I am currently giving thought to what I want my music video to be like. I find various ideas interesting but each have their own flaw.
Firstly I think that compiling a music video using the stop animation effect is a clever and interesting way of making a video. I like the idea of being able to create a video using photographs of drawings or lego and keep it in time with a song, additionally you can edit the photos using photoshop to erase mistakes. However, its problem is that it's time consuming and it will be difficult to make the video both interesting and original throughout a chosen song and the camera angles also become limited.
This is where the advantage of using people and actually shooting a video becomes clear, you can include greater ranges of movements and locations and you can also make it "cheesey" on purpose. However, it's a more difficult way of making a video and more difficult to time.
I will conduct further research into music videos and identify what I like and see if I could use similar techniques when i've decided what i want to do.
