Research and planning. Analysing Videos, LMFAO: Party Rock Anthem

How are the band/ artist represented? Is this similar across the videos?

The duo in the video are represented as a pair of "hospital patients" (in the full video) who awaken into a deserted street. The general point being that the song is an infection, the actors/dancers act like zombies as they are filled with the sound of the song and I think it is a subconcious attempt to motivate the audience into liking the song. This storyline to the video closely follows that of the film 28 days later, it's an unconventional method but it may be something I could try as an idea of what to do with my own video.

What relationship exists between the images and the lyrics in the chosen videos?

The lyrics dont really coincide with the images shown, only a couple of quotes match e.g "every day im shufflin" and occasionally dancers dressed up in various outfits (jesus/robot) will perform the shuffle move. But the overall theme of the video is a party

What relationship exists between the music and the images?

The relationship that exists between the music and the images roughly matches, it is a constantly moving scene with a mixture of simple dancing moves and extreme break dancing which add effect to the video as the audience may gasp in amazement at the complexity of it. All improving visual effects and general approvement of the song.

Is it possible to see any common features in the music video?

As already mensioned, the most conventional or common things found on this particular video is the dancing. However, in an increasing amout of videos including this one, expensive cars are shown in the background. All this does is simply boast money and show off, however most people enjoy this as sometimes this can be a major part of the video. Also as im doing a hip-hip/rap themed video, it may fit in more effectively as they are all about being big, brash and portray power. There has recently been a video released with such part for an expensive car and it is one I will analyse to show what I an reffering to.
