Research and planning, Posters, Jay-Z's BP Tour
This example of Jay-Z's BP (blueprint album) tour is what I previously posted about. It's the same genre of music however this poster is arguably simpler as I've argued. This also gives me an idea of what to do for my poster. To the untrained eye, the background to this poster is just a pattern however it is the album artwork to the Blueprint album which he is basing the tour around. So when I design my album cover I could do this as so far it, this technique has been used twice. The Razorlight album featured their album simply inset on the page and this poster has Jay-Z's cover behind him in the poster. Similar to the other two posters I've researched, this poster contains a lot of black on it and a matching colour scheme, font selection and the artists face. More similarly however, this coincides with Kanye West's poster far more as it features both artists as animations and wearing sunglasses which reflects the R&B symbol of "coolness", wealth and power. This is especially helpful as both Kanye West and Jay-Z have the same genre within music, also meaning I am starting to reveal conventions and it in turn can have an effect on the outcome of my products if I take into account these techniques and create them properly.
